The incident with Valya Harkonnen using the voice is from one called 'Mentats of Dune'. All three books intertwine the development of Nursing, Mentat, Navigator and Suk Doctor. I don’t want to be critical of just the first episode of a TV show, but this was just average on all levels. The acting was below par, except for some famous actors like Mark Strong, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams and maybe Travis Fimmel.
The story was very loose and the dialogue was not worthy of a dune
The rest of the cast felt like they had just graduated from a film academy or something. I love slow dramas that take forever to build because I know the reward is worth the wait. But this wasn’t just slow, a lot of things happened, but it was just boring, I don’t know how else to put it. The soundtrack that roamed the movies is a little ripped here, some familiar sounds pop up here and there, but it’s just that the timing wasn’t good.
My question is, did he even like that this was done?
It’s like I heard a lot of music here that didn’t make any impact. I remembered how long we used to watch movies with just people talking, and then boom, Hans Zimmer does his magic, and I would get so pumped. But I know he had no part in making the sounds here and I don’t even need to check. I’m not sure if Denis Villeneuve was involved in this production, I hope not.
Food for thought
Would an average TV show like this after two epic movies have any impact on the highly anticipated third movie? The reason I ask is because The Penguin was so good that it made me appreciate Batman even more than I did after watching it and I can’t wait for the second movie. So how would Dune: Prophecy affect the 3rd movie if there is one at all.
